Hover over an airplane to reveal the plan
What are the defaults for the retirement plan, and are they set to help or harm the objective of helping your people retire better? We’d hate for the plane to take off without them and leave them grounded. Our team excels in getting everybody on board
The participants in a retirement plan don’t just automatically climb towards their retirement goals unless there is an intentional and purposeful effort to facilitate the process. If fees are excessive, if contributions are low, or if the communication and guidance in the Break Room is not on target, the gravitational pull will prevent success.
The participants in a retirement plan have the opportunity to set the flight to cruise control once they reach their cruising altitude, meaning that proper diversification and rebalancing of their account occurs as they move along a customized glide-path. We like to assist each employee with finding their own customized portfolio and glide-path, a combination of their risk tolerance and their retirement target date, knowing that this should mean less turbulence over the course of the journey and should promote better long-term success.
The closer a participant gets to the end of their journey the greater the importance of customized personal guidance. Have they considered where they’d like to land, and when they can land, and how much fuel they need to land? Have they factored into the equation Social Security and ongoing health care needs? It may be important to sit down with a Financial Planner for in-depth planning, and we work with a nation-wide network of trusted planners qualified to serve the best interest of those preparing to land. Each trusted planner with whom we work embodies a teacher’s heart and a servant mindset. Regardless of where in the country you plan to land, a trusted planner is nearby to help make it a soft landing.
With so much attention on the accumulation process in retirement, we feel like there is far too little focus on the distribution process, but how a participant lands is crucial. It would be a shame to successfully pilot the plane through retirement only to crash at the end of the journey. A proper landing is vital to success and there is nothing automatic about the process. A successful landing may not mean wasting your money on an annuity where fees can erode years of hard work. We don’t believe that you need to insure your money with an annuity, but you do need to think carefully and purposefully about how to land.
